Ozzie Osband is a ham radio operator (call sign N4SCY) who has followed America’s space program for decades. In his youth he played with telephones, teletype machines, and space satellites (via ham radio). He convinced the Florida Public Service Commission that Cape Canaveral (arguably the Countdown Capitol of the World) should get area code 3-2-1. He now sends launch updates to the public via mobile phone text messages, and writes web pages for mobile phone web browsers. Osband is consulting with Omega Envoy on radio communications systems. He can be reached by dialling 321-Liftoff (yup, for real).
